Dashed across and bought it post-haste. Congratulations on a lovely story. I would so hate to think that the machines we've sent out into the depths of space were sentient!

I try never to think of the living creatures we did send off, and I'd love to imagine that a kindly race had rescued them and given them hope of a meaningful life.

I wonder if the new makers will be interested in her data??

And yes, this little story was all about making me feel better about our adventurous probes all alone out there in the big wide universe :) That, and my concern that we might not follow in their lead.
